Silver Lining

This was the silver lining to this busy busy weekend.
Must have been an intense game.

Grandpa Jack

Last Week, my Grandpa Jack passed away. He was living in an assisted living home and started going down hill slowly until last Saturday he took a turn for the worse and passed away early tuesday morning. It was a different feeling with him going compared to my Grandma and uncle Bill. Some may disagree, but to me I'm glad he went fast so he wasn't in much pain and now he is with his family again. I was happy to have that feeling.
My Dad was in Ireland with Mary when it happend but I think we all knew it was going happen when he was there. The funeral was held on monday and the whole family was able to come in from California, St. George, and Moab and family friends from Washington.
The viewing was nice and when we went to the cemetary my Dad was able to speak. When he was speaking that was the first time I cried about Grandpa Jack. My Dad did such a great job talking about memories and how funny/stubborn/honest he was.
The Honor Gurad was there and they did some neat Military stuff with the flag, shooting guns, and Bugle taps were played.
Brody was also able to do the dedication of the grave. He did such a wonderful job, we all know he was inspired to say what he said.
Thank you to everyone who helped us with food and supporting our family.

Kickin' off Halloween

Every year since I can remember my Grandma Shirley has put on a Halloween party. We all dress up, play fun games to win prizes, and have a delicious buffett style lunch. This year was especially fun because the great gandkids were able to come. We had so much fun being there with everyone.
We themed our costumes to go along with what grandma is. She was a witch so some of us were bubbles in her couldron and others were her broom, potion bottle, black cats/kitty and a couldron.
The little kids wore what they were going to be for Halloween which included Darth Vader, a S.W.A.T. guy, Spider Man, a Princess riding side saddle on a horse, and a pumpkin.
As I was taking picture of everyone's costumes the 3 boys had me take 2 pictures of them together, then each one individually (I think they were excited to be showing off their costumes) I only put 1 pic of them up though.
Happy Halloween!

Us and Big Grandma

St. George

A couple weekends ago we headed down to St. George to see The Little Mermaid and Grease at Tuacahn. They were fun plays to watch although Grease totally took the cake over The Little Mermaid.
We also got to watch Jackson's soccer game, have a little baby shower for Erin, and celebrate Zach's Birthday.
It was a great little get-away vacation!

We love Joyce and Jenny!

Cat's out of the bag

Hello fellow readers,
Yep.. It's true.. I'm that precious "P" word. P.H.A.T. :) Just kidding. PREGNANT hahaha (nervous laugh). I didn't know I was until about 4 1/2 weeks into it. No signs, no symptoms until a week or so later it hit me like a punch to the stomach. I went to the doctor when I was at 7 weeks and was able to see the bebe and hear the heartbeat (which made this all more real).I am now 9 weeks to the day (almost out of this 1st trimester!) and it is taking a toll on me. Here are some of the problems I am experiencing:

1. I can't sleep through the night because I have to PEE every 20 minutes.
2. Every single item of food sounds discusting.
3. If I don't eat every 3 to 4 hours, I get so hungry it's like I've NEVER eaten food before. So when I eat food, I can only have a little because I get full fast. It's a vicious cycle.
4. I'm more tired now then when I had Mono.
5. I have weird breakdowns and start to cry. For example, I felt so bad I couldn't cook Brody dinner one day and I cried like a baby and couldn't stop (at least it wasn't over brownies or jedi training :) ).
6. Our house is messy cuz all I want to do is NOTHING.
7. I can't go to the grocey store without smelling something awful.
8. What the heck is morning sickness? I have night sickness.
9. On a good note, I've only thrown up once and I wasn't even nauseated. So I guess it just comes and goes when it pleases.

I'm looking forward to the 2nd trimester to HOPEFULLY loose some of these habits I've developed.

We told our parents and siblings 2 weekends ago. I made copies of the ultrasound and put some plastic over it then painted some metalic stuff on it so it was a scratch off card (like a lottery ticket). We told them it was a promo for my work and they believed us :). My mom went first and she couldn't quit smiling, she was so happy.
Then we went to my Dad's and at first when he was scratching it he said "oh, I won a gun" I guess something in the photo looked like a gun haha. Then he scratch a little more and came and put the picture up to my belly. It was really cute. Last stop was Jana's and when she was scratching she got this look on her face and couldn't believe it. She started crying she was SO happy, which made me cry. This will be her first grandkid. Brody's brothers were really excited too.
We sent those to McCord, Dane, Jack, and Rylee and Stef and Erin called and couldn't believe it either.
We're excited and nervous so wish us luck on this new journey. I'm going to keep this blog updated with the prego stuff so stay tuned for more.

Had to take 4 to believe it

Snowbird

Like clock work it was that time again for the condo at snowbird to be available. So the whole family went up on Sunday to celebrate grandma Shirley's 75th Birthday! The scenery is so pretty up there and Oktoberfest is going on so you can always expect to spot a drunk or two. Suzanne made yummy chicken tacos, Diane made delicious truffles, and Mona made a great Phillipino dessert.
My weekends are just great and can't get any better. Thanks family!

"Perfectly Perfect"

My Dad and Mary were able to get us tickets to Mary Poppins at the capitol theatre last week. The play was entertaining, a lot different then the movie, and Mary Poppins just just "Perfectly Perfect"--or so the song says...Me and Brody liked it a lot! Our friends Jesse and Kayla were able to come too and used some extra tickets my Dad and Mary had. Thanks for the fun weekend!
